Advanced Networking I & II
Advanced Networking I course along with Advanced Networking II are two courses of the 7th semester of the Department of Informatics, of TEI of Thessaloniki.
The courses teach the official curriculum of the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification. CCNA is a certification that is well known worldwide. The course's curriculum is the official curriculum that is provided by Cisco to Local Academies of Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) for CCNA.
Those courses where added in the course program of the Department of Informatics of TEI of Thessaloniki during the summer semester of the academic year 2003-2004, when the Department became a Local Academy. The courses are taught by Harhalakis Stefanos and Psarras Nikolaos.
The courses account for 6 academic units and are taught during 6 lab-based compulsory hours per week. Before enrolling to Advanced Networking II, students must succeed in Advanced Networking I.
During both courses, theory is accompanied with hands-on practice. After 4-6 weeks, there is every (teaching) day hands-on practice using Routers and Switched under laboratory conditions. The lab has adequate equipment, allowing to form teams with no more than two persons each.
